Epping Forest (COL)

Lych Gate

Ed Brooks Furniture designed a Lych Gate, which was inspired by the Lych Gate of a local church, to act as the new entrance into an area of parkland
that is under construction within Epping Forest.

Sangwyn Landscapes assisted with the project,  installing the large timber structure in the ground with concrete, and then working closely with
Alex Brooks in the whole construction process.

The main supports for the gate (shaped like a 'Y') are carved from a single trunk of Chestnut. The side supports are carved from Oak, as are the rafters, benches and side panels. The roof is then clad with Cedar shingles.

The gate itself is made using Oak with reclaimed and refurbished iron fence railings.
